The design utilizes different types of chairs to create the walls that make up the Sukkah structure. The lower tier is more uniform establishing order and a firm foundation while the upper tier has variety of chairs. The upper tier symbolizes the diversity of people: old, new, broken, short, tall, soft, hard, traditional, modern. All the chairs work together to support the roof structure. Just like in the sukkah each chair is essential for the stability of the roof and walls, so tool is each individual person essential to establishing a stable society. Everyone is essential.
