Art has always been a part of her life in some form. Ever since early childhood, art has been a way to express fears, desires, misunderstandings, and share her view of our beautiful world. Every day is a new discovery of colors, shapes, and beauty. The world has always been a canvas for Kim, and she expresses her views through acrylic fluid art movement.
Kim is a midwestern Kansas girl who transplanted to Texas. The world became more beautiful and vibrant after marriage and having two children. Watching her children experience and see the world through traveling, museums, and everyday life, Kim has poured paint to express what they have seen and capture those visions and moments.
Painting is also a cathartic release for Kim. She has had debilitating migraines that sometimes incapacitate her for days and has experienced them for over twenty years. Painting helps calm the pain and spurs more creativity by organizing the chaos that envelopes her brain. One of Kim’s favorite artists is Jackson Pollock, Pollock wrote “Abstract painting is abstract. It confronts you. There was a reviewer a while back who wrote that my pictures didn't have any beginning or any end. He didn't mean it as a compliment, but it was.”
Kim likes her art to evoke different emotions and each time people see it they can interpret it differently based on their current feelings. Kim hopes her art helps people get into a deeper thinking of what the eyes see and how the mind deciphers it.
Art is in the eyes of all the beholders.
Kim sits on the boards of Texas Jewish Arts Association at Secretary, Richardson Civic Art Society as Welcome Meeting Committee Chair, and is a member of the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco.

Artist Statement
Acrylic cups of paint spill out onto a white canvas and the chaos in my head begins to calm. The pain and chaos subside, and an abstract creation is made from my heart and hands. The beautiful views of nature that I see each day are spilled out, and the paint interprets the visions that surround me. The abstract creation is then a vision for all to interpret; the colors, movement, and my view of nature.
