Juror: Celia Eberle
Active in the 500X Gallery and represented by Chris Worley, Celia Eberle has been a force in the DFW art scene since the 1980's. Using story and multicultural mythology, her representative sculpture bears a surreal edge while making references to very modern tradition.
Biography - Celia Eberle grew up in the Piney Woods of deep East Texas. She received her BFA with Honors from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1974, and dates her professional career from her inclusion in Women of the Big State, juried by Lisa Phillips in 1986. Eberle began developing her theories regarding the interrelationship of behavior patterns, myth, and the persistence of images while a member of the historic co-op 500X Gallery from 1987-1992. She has had more than seventeen solo exhibits, and her work has been included in shows in Buffalo, New York; Portland, Oregon; and Chicago. She has garnered awards that include the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Individual Support Grant, the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant, the Nasher Sculpture Center Microgrant, the Dozier Travel Grant from the Dallas Museum of Art, and an M-AAA/NEA Fellowship. In 2014, she held a one person exhibit at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. In 2017 she was included in Commanding Space: Women Sculptors of Texas at the Amon Carter Museum of Art, Fort Worth, and To See is to Have at the McNay Art Museum, San Antonio. Public collections include the Dallas Museum of Art (Texas Artist Fund), the J. Wayne Stark Gallery at Texas A&M, and Longview Museum of Fine Arts (Purchase Award.) She believes that, in spite of our love of technology and progress, the basic character of the human experience remains essentially unchanged.

- ARTWORK MUST FIT THE SHOW THEME. Artist may state their justification in a “Statement of Work” on their Entry Form.
- PREDOMINANTLY WALL-HUNG WORK.
- SCULPTURAL WORK and PEDESTAL MUST FIT WITHIN 3’ FROM THE WALL.
- PEDESTALS MUST BE IN GOOD, EXHIBITION-QUALITY CONDITION, without drapery or additional lighting.
- Maximum size wall-hung work - 36” x 60”, framed and wired for hanging.
- Weight Limit for wall-hung work - 25 lbs.
- New work is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Work must not have been previously shown in either a TJAA or TSA show.

- Each member may enter 2 works for $35 Application Fee
- Payment is made online at the end of the Application
- Applicant must be a 2019 paid member of either TJAA or TSA.
TSA - Annual dues of $40 (includes the weekly newsletter with member news, calls to entry, and other art opportunities and information) - Join TSA

ACCEPTANCE OF WORK:
- Artwork will be juried by Celia Eberle in keeping with the quality of work offered at the Eisemann Center.
- Space at the Eisemann Center is limited, which may influence the number of pieces accepted.
- TJAA and/or TSA reserve the right to refuse any work not in keeping with the theme of this exhibition.
- The Eisemann Center requests a 15% commission on any work sold during the show.
- Neither TJAA nor TSA will take a commission on any work sold in this show.
- The sale of artwork is the sole responsibility of the artist.
- All work must remain in the show through the end of the exhibition.
- It is the responsibility of the artist to have their work delivered and picked up at the Eisemann Center at the posted dates and times.

- Artists will be required sign a waiver releasing the Eisemann Center and the City of Richardson from all liability against any damage, loss or theft of artist’s artwork.
- All reasonable care will be exercised with artwork; however, neither the Eisemann Center, the City of Richardson, TJAA, nor TSA will not be responsible for loss or damage.
- The Eisemann Center Curator/Installer will hang and place all artwork.
