The Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-off is celebrating its 27th year on March 15, 2020!!!
The Cook-off is a premier citywide event hosted by Tiferet Israel Congregation for the Dallas Jewish Community that brings together thousands of people, young and old from all religious backgrounds for an afternoon of chili, food (hamburgers, hot dogs, falafel, popcorn, cotton candy, and more), fun, and rides for the kids. In recent years, over 40 teams have competed annually for the bragging rights as the best kosher chili in North Texas.
This year, the Texas Jewish Arts Association will be joining the cook-off with an art show and sale. Texas Jewish Arts is a community of Jewish artists, art professionals and art enthusiasts who support, promote, and enhance the Jewish arts in Texas. Membership is open to Jewish artists, patrons and those who work in the art world currently living in Texas. The exhibition will include paintings, mosaics, sculptures, and glass creations and will be open to chili cook-off participants from 11am until 4pm.

When deciding on the type of artwork to display for sales, keep a few things in mind:
- Approximately 4,000 people attend the Kosher Chili Cook-off each year
- The Cook-off will be outdoors; the art show will be indoors
- TJAA and Tiferet Israel will put up signage and invite attendees into the building for the art fair
- We don't expect expensive artwork to sell at the event (although that would be nice!)
- Expect most purchases to be small, portable, less expensive items
- For ease of purchases, have the ability to accept credit cards
- Be willing to hold items until the end of the event for retrieval
- Have business cards and/or literature so attendees can contact you afterward for potential purchases of larger items
- We hope to have Judaica well represented, but your artwork does not have to be Jewish art
- Artwork restrictions:
- nothing indicative of other religions
- nothing political
- no nudes
- Whether you rent a table or bring your own, artist should provide their own table covers or drapes to make your space look more professional
- Artists must provide their own display supports, stands, and/or easels
- Hooks will be provided for wall-hung work
- Kosher Chili Cook-off T-shirts will be available for artists to purchase prior to the event
The event will take place indoors in the synagogue.
